Regularly on the list of the world’s top 50 bars, New Asia is 71 floors up the Swissôtel The Stamford and it offers a true multi-sensory experience. There is a running joke amongst regulars that says ‘the drinks are free, it’s the view you pay for’ and there is an element of truth to this.
Inside, you’ll be mixing with Singapore’s young, upwardly-mobile millennials and while there’s no express code, dress to impress is the order of the day. Pulsating tunes from internationally-renowned DJs reverberate around New Asia and when they open up the rooftop helipad, the views are simply staggering.
The early evening, post-work crowd will find a relaxed, cool vibe but when the night hours roll in, it turns into a party with Singapore’s cool kids quaffing Champagne and living the high life – the very, very high life.
New Asia is all about the drinks and the view but if you’re hungry, there’s a great selection of tasting platters of artisan cured meats, cheese and a mezze platter, hot bites such as cheese steak sliders, Indonesian-style satay and crispy rock shrimp tempura as well as a good choice of wood-fired pizzas including Chinese roast duck, roasted lobster and the classic Margherita.
Each night of the week is themed and there are some great offers available. Available all week long, if you buy a 6l bottle of Belvedere vodka for S$1,900 you get a free Imperial Magnum of Moët. In Sundays and Tuesdays Martinis are S$15 each and on Wednesdays you can get two bottles of ‘house pour’ for S$280. The cocktail list is a mix of classic and signature drinks including the China Mule (Johnny walker Black, ginger beer, lychee, lime and vanilla and the Unusual Ume made from Tanqueray gin, umeshu dento sour plum, cucumber and lemon and of course there’s the usual selection of beers, wines and spirits.
New Asia is one of Singapore’s best rooftop bars where the views, the drinks and the beautiful people take centre stage for a night to remember.
